This is the first five rounds of a Mock Draft I conducted on Memorial Day. The first few rounds of every redraft team will make or break that team's season - it's very rare to be able to find replacement-level talent off the waiver that is worth a top 60 pick. Notable exception to that rule include Justin Forsett and CJ Anderson - but you shouldn't ever count on being able to find that diamond in the rough. Here's our first mock of the season with commentary to help guide you.
Round 1

NOTES: Not much surprising here. Le’Veon Bell’s suspension hasn’t seen him slip out of the top 5, but it has dropped him from #1 to #5. Surprised to see Peterson back in the Top 4 so quickly, despite the hype train on him. Would have expected to see him go in the back of the Top 10 RBs. I think Gronk is being overdrafted at this stage – the talent is there but I think the lack of Brady for four games will affect him. Still the obvious TE1, but as Brady’s suspension stands, won’t provide the return of a first rounder.

NOTES: Thrilled to get Green/Cobb back to back. WR is deep but the elite WRs are not. There is a LOT of youth in this round – Gurley in 3rd round of redraft is too high, in my opinion. Could lose 6 games to PUP and then come back to a committee. I think the hype on Hyde is too high as well. This is a great spot for Graham/Sanders/Hilton/Manning.

This is too high for Brady, while he is suspended. If his suspension is
reduced, then this seem about right. I think Ingram’s value in NO will be
capped with the appearance of CJ Spiller, but other than that I like the run on
RB’s here. Gordon will contribute immediately. I also think Jonathan Stewart
stays healthy this year… but he’ll probably make me eat my words.

Surprised to see Big Ben go before Newton – Newton is a tank with good running ability. This is too high for Maclin… KC doesn’t throw TDs to WRs. You want TDs with your receiving yards for the 5th round value.
